7 DIY Projects To Take On At Home

We’ve put together a list of our top 7 DIY projects to carry out around the home whilst on lockdown. Take a look through the infographic below and see if any projects tickle your fancy!  If you are in need of any materials for any of your chosen project, you know where we are…

Insulate the loft

Install batt, blanket, loose-fill or sheet insulation for an easy solution to a draughty roof. Lots of heat escapes through this part of the house, so insulating it can save you a lot of energy and money.

A lick of paint

Refresh tired-looking walls, skirting boards, door frames and window sills with a coat of light-coloured paint. Any dirt and scuffs will disappear, giving the room a new lease of life.

Reseal the bath

Remove old silicone and clean the area to get rid of black mould. Using masking tape for guidance, apply new sealant and use your finger to smooth it out.

Create a feature wall

Channel your inner interior designer with a wall that makes a statement. Choose a bold wallpaper print or shade of paint and apply it to one wall, creating a focal point for the room.

Replace old handles

The small details can make a big difference. By simply buying some decorative new handles for cupboards, drawers and doors, you can change up the decor of a room and give it a bit of a facelift.

Build a BBQ

If you’re prepared to try your hand at bricklaying, building a brick barbecue with a shelf isn’t too complicated, and it’s something you can enjoy time and time again in the summer months.

Decking

It requires careful planning, but a standalone, ground-level deck is a fairly simple project that even carpentry novices can take on. It can be enjoyed in the sunshine alongside your new barbecue!
